Accessibility

W3C Standards:

The pages within this web site comply (or are marked for compliance) with all priority 1, 2 and 3 (where possible) guidelines of the W3C WebContent Accessibility Guidelines. All pages (with known exceptions) also validate as XHMTL 1.0 Transitional. I have checked all pages for validity to this standard and you can validate each page yourself by selecting the link in the bottom left hand corner. All new web pages are checked as part of the authoring procedure (to the XHMTL 1.0 Transitional standard). Also, all pages on this site use structured semantic markup (as recommended). For instance H1 tags are used for main titles, H2 tags and lower for subtitles and highlighted text.

Links:

All Links are written to make sense out of context. i.e. where links to files are made these are marked. In this case, the title attribute of the link gives information about the title and nature of the link. In cases where a link leads away from this web site, a new browser window will open.

Images:

Text descriptions are provided for all images which appear in this site. I am currently checking complex images to make sure they include long descriptions to explain the significance of each image to non-visual readers.

Style sheets:

Style sheets are used to designate font size and colour, both in 'ordinary' text and linked text, and background and other visual layout aspects of tables. If your browser or browsing device does not support style sheets at all, the content of each page should still be readable. However if you are experiencing difficulties please contact me ('info at circlewebs') for further assistance.
